"I was in town for a week; after a few days of sleeping in a bed and with pillows that didn't accommodate my body type, I developed extreme neck pain. Gail was able to see me the same day. After a detailed interview that allowed her to focus on the affected area, she was able to relieve my pain. I recommend her highly." - B.H.
"Gail was very professional and knowledgeable about her profession. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. She even suggested inexpensive at home tips to use. Wonderful, polite, and gentle with the hands but very effective. AWESOME!!" - B.S.
"I had a wonderful experience with Gail. I got a full body massage but mentioned that my lower back was a bigger issue for me, so she focused more on that area while still massaging the entire body as well. It was very delightful, relaxing and I felt like a new man! Thank you Gail!!!" - S.T.
"The only massage I had had before was part of physical therapy & not stress management. I walked into my appointment a great ball of stress, systemic, traffic related, with a soupçon of road rage from a fellow driver. THIS massage was so relaxing, physically, mentally, and emotionally, that I literally do not have the words to adequately describe it. I walked out after my appointment ten times the woman I walked in as. I give Gail and About Massage my highest possible recommendation. Exceeded all possible expectations!" - J.H.
"The massage was a gift from my son. Gail has such amazing technique that I fell asleep, yet all my aches and pains (which were NOT minor) were gone by the end of the session. I will definitely be returning." - S.C.
"I work full time in a very stressful environment. Then I come home to take care of my 87 year old mother who has many health issues. Once a month I treat myself to a massage with Gail. She totally relaxes me and gets all my sore spots, especially my neck and shoulders. I told her she needs to put a nap room in her office so I can sleep a few hours before going back to the 'real world'!!!" - D.E.
"After massages with Gail, I feel so flexible for several days following. I've had a recent hip replacement and only recently have started back with massage because of a full physical therapy schedule. Looking forward to the next massage." - N.A.
"Total relaxation!!" - B.N.
"I came in to get relief from the regular pains of pregnancy and I immediately felt at ease when I arrived. I received a wonderful and relaxing massage and plan to come back for the remainder of my pregnancy as it helped tremendously. About Massage has a soothing environment that immediately puts you at ease and I cannot wait for my next appointment!" - C.H.
"So nice to feel all soft and flexible after a good massage. Not sure I'll ever go back to 60 minutes when 90 minutes gives Gail time to get from the top of my head to the tips of my toes with plenty of time in each area.” - S.S.
“My prenatal massage was incredible! With position changes, strokes to ease the pressure and pain, and the soothing atmosphere, it was the first time I was comfortable in six months!” - M.B.
“I never had a massage before, and Gail talked me through the process prior to beginning the massage so I knew what to expect. She was incredibly professional and was sensitive to my personal needs, such as where I was experiencing tension that needed more attention, and massaging with more/less pressure based on my preferences. I walked out feeling so dreamy I forgot to leave a tip :( I'm glad my husband was there to drive me home! Thank you Gail - I am looking forward to another one, and paying it forward as well." - C.W.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, please schedule your session by phone or by using the button on this page.
Do you do deep tissue?
If you want firm pressure targeting specific muscle groups to reduce pain, stiffness and muscle tension, then you’ll appreciate a session at About Massage. If you want specialized deep tissue techniques that leave us both aching at the end of the session, then sorry, but no.
I shouldn’t have my feet massaged while I’m pregnant, right?
Wrong. That myth is based on a traditional Chinese technique of briskly rubbing a specific point above the ankle to encourage labor in full-term pregnant women who need only a nudge. There’s no evidence the technique works. In fact, pregnant women with leg cramps or sore feet love foot/leg massage.
What do I wear during the massage?
A sheet. I’ll give you privacy to undress to your comfort level (most people take everything off) and to lie on the massage table under the sheet. You’ll be draped with the sheet throughout the session, and I’ll uncover one area at a time. Nothing will be exposed that wouldn’t be exposed at a family swimming pool.
You don't need my medical info and list of medications for a relaxation massage, do you?
I do. Some medical conditions and medications are contraindications for massage and others require me to adjust my pressure or work around specific areas.
How long is the actual massage?
It's 30, 60 or 90 minutes of hands-on time. That doesn't include the consultation or time for you to undress and dress.
Do you sell packages?
No, instead About Massage rewards regular clients based on frequency and referrals – no monthly fee, long-term commitment or punch card.
What forms of payment are accepted?
About Massage takes cash, checks and credit cards.
What if I need to change my appointment?
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance so another client can book that time. Clients who miss appointments or cancel on short notice must prepay for future sessions unless it's a situation of illness, family emergency or hazardous weather.
I think I’m getting the flu. Can I still get a massage?
Please reschedule. Massage may make your flu symptoms worse.
